Clinical and practical advice for newly qualified doctors

Abstract
Background: Newly qualified doctors beginning their medical career may experience apprehension and uncertainty prior to undertaking their new role. The transition between being a medical student and doctor can be daunting, however it is a pivotal but natural progression in the medical graduate’s career. Aim and Methods: To outline advice and suggestions aimed towards newly qualified doctors which will help ease the transition into their new career. Results: The tips in this article provide a practical guide to starting life as a doctor, based on experience from current newly qualified doctors. Conclusion: These tips can enlighten newly qualified doctors and provide them with the necessary tools and expectations they will encounter within the first few months of working as a doctor.
